Abstract
Planar spin states recently shown to produce improved semiclassical variational bounds for easy-plane ferromagnets are used in conjunction with coherent states to derive a time-dependent Hartree-Fock approximation. Some immediate appilcations are worked out concerning the spectrum of elementary excitations of CsNiF 3 in presence of magnetic fields.
