Abstract

At AzNIPIneft' new types of valve seats for bar pumps of oil wells which are highly resistant to hydroabrasions have been created with two or three functional parts different from conventional seats: a working face which directly carries the load of the ball and hydroabrasive stream, a housing which receives tightening stresses, and an intermediate elastoplastic element which serves as the sealing element. Results obtained from tests specify the optimum pressure and material alloy for each part. The high hermiticity, strength, and resistance to hydroabrasive as well as to corrosive and mechanic wear shows that valve seats of this type will reduce the consumption of hard alloys in short supply.
