Abstract

A speed identification method based on an improved model reference adaptive system (MRAS) of synchronous motor in high power applications is presented in this paper. The reference model based on a new stator flux observer is designed, using the improved frequency adaptive negative feedback integrator. In the αβ0 coordinate system, the MRAS model takes the flux linkage as the state variable. Simulation results from MATLAB/Simulink are presented. This method has been initially applied to the high-power application, combined with a three-level inverter. The experiment has been carried out with DSP28335 and results indicate the correctness of the method.
