Abstract

Dong and Wong (1987) developed an algorithm derive the fuzzy weighted average for fuzzy numbers with fuzzy weights. Liou and Wang (1992) provided an improved method for Dong and Wong (1987) to reduce the computation. Guh et al. (2001) proposed a linear programming approach and then they mentioned that their approach is much more powerful then the original nonlinear one. In this note, we will analysis their approach to point out that their approach is interesting but tedious. The same example of Dong and Wong (1987) and Guh et al. (2001) are examined to support out findings.
