Abstract
With Nd addition, the eutectic structure and primary Mg17Al12 dendrites of the Al/Mg interface were significantly refined, and the rare earth precipitates formed at the interface. The average bonding strength of the Al/Mg interface increased from 36.8 MPa to 52.2 MPa with a raise range of 41.8% compared to the interface without Nd addition.
