Abstract

Both open and endovascular elective aortic aneurysm repair have shown effectiveness in the prevention of aneurysm-related mortality for the vast majority of patients. Sac expansion and rupture have been reported despite previous repair, regardless of the repair method. However, limited data are available on the outcomes of these patients when presenting with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (rAAA) after previous repair. This study assessed whether patients undergoing treatment of a rAAA presenting after prior elective repair will have worse outcomes compared with patients without a prior repair and the ideal approach for patients with previous aortic repair.
