Abstract

Today, The Direct Torque Control (DTC) is a common solution in modern induction motor drives. Because of the low number of available active voltage vectors, the DTC method has high flux and torque ripple. In this paper, an improved model predictive DTC method will be proposed to decrease both torque and flux ripples without the use of weighting factor. This method is based on the combination of the both conventional DTC and Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPTC) schemes. The performance of the proposed method will be validated by simulation results.
