Abstract

Abstract A new type of oxygen stoichiometric Mg-doped LiMn2O4 spinels with improved crystallinity and decreased surface area was prepared by a special “two-step” method. These materials exhibited greatly improved cycleabilty (ca. 1.5% capacity loss after 50 cycles) and reduced Mn dissolution at elevated temperature than conventional Mg-doped materials.
