Abstract

Flow injection analysis, with chemiluminescence detection based on a gallic acid/hydrogen peroxide/sodium hydroxide/methanol system, gives a sensitive and rapid determination of cobalt(II). The detection limit and sampling rate are improved to 0.6 ng 1 −1 (continuous sample flow) or 0.6 pg (10-μl sample injection) and 120 h −1, respectively. The method is successfully applied to real samples.
