Abstract

Simple mathematical formulations for digital simulation of a given B-H loop have been presented, These models are based on Preisach-Néel and Frolich approaches. The digital models are used to obtain the discrete values of field quantities in the rotor hysteresis ring. The model also takes into account the minor loop excursions which results in parasitic losses. Careful choice of the parameters describing the hisotory of each B-H value has been made. Test and simulated results of B-H loop for Oerstit-70 material are included. Validity of the computational methods is established using the discrete fields to predict the performance of test hysteresis motors. The agreement between the computed and experimental values is found reasonably good.
