Abstract
The Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM) has been successfully applied to the design of various control systems. The CDM uses polynomials or polynomial matrices as the basic expression of the system. Polynomial expression is as accurate as state-space but its understanding and handling are much easier like transfer function. In comparison with CDM, the problems in state-space design are pointed out. A MIMO design by CDM with Polynomial Toolbox is explained.
