Abstract

The presentation/poster’s content focuses on the history of radiology nursing and the evolution to today’s ARIN membership and commitment to the specialty of radiology through certification. Present insight and knowledge of how today’s interdisciplinary and collaborative teamwork fosters and facilitates safe and supportive outcomes over the continuum of patient care as recognized by the Joint Commission. Reinstate the significance and role radiology nurses play in imaging, including health teachers, patient advocates, and promoters of safety and well-being. Discuss the QI initiatives implemented through cohesive departmental standards of care, protocol appendices, ALARA, Image Gently initiatives, and patient/staff safety improvements in MRI safety, such as house-wide level II safety training and adult and pediatric iodine allergy prep policies/procedures.
