Abstract
RATIONALE: Major house dust mite allergen are mainly carried on large particles (>10 μm). In contrast, standard bronchial challenge tests (BCT) use nebulizer which deliver particles with mass median aerodynamic diameters (MMAD) from 1 to 5 μm. This suggests that BCT may not reflect domestic exposure. Moreover we have demonstrated previously that large particle are more suitable to induce immediate bronchial response to cat allergen (Lieutier-Colas F et al, Am J Respir Crit Care Med 2003). The aim was to evaluate the influence of particle size on bronchial response to Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus.
