Abstract

In the present work, the development and analysis of linear piezoelectricity in the peridynamics framework is presented. The model is developed using non-ordinary state-based Peridynamics. The equations of motion are derived using Hamilton’s principle and the correspondence material model is developed by establishing the connection between the classical theory of linear piezoelectricity and the newly proposed peridynamic linear piezoelectricity framework. An implicit implementation is proposed for two-dimensional linear piezoelectricity. Moreover, for the stabilization of the proposed scheme, the bond-associated correspondence model is used. We demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed model by presenting some 2 D numerical examples.
