Abstract

A closer examination of the conditions needed to propagate a steady-state shock wave is made and generalized to include energy added in the vicinity of the wave via both laser deposition and chemical reactions. This analysis yields slightly different results than standard detonation theory, and these differences are explored. A case is made for the correctness of the present method by citing the results of other researchers.
