Abstract

The present article treats behavioural implication in contemporary secular rituals. Starting from a critique of the great classic sociological options, their philosophical foundation and their methodological modalities, the author proposes to centre attention on different types of behaviour constituting the reflexive capacity of the individual: partial engagement, lateral identification, critical distance,... Several interpretative categories are proposed to distinguish forms of implication : ramification, paradoxical implication, distracted attention, minimal use, ordinary emotion.
