Abstract
A new doctor of nursing practice (DNP), was distraught. I'm going to lose my job, Bob. My chief nurse told me to implement shared governance, and didn't. Cynthia's capstone program included measuring governance in her hospital after a period of implementation, and the score fell short of the shared governance zone. But Cynthia, insisted, Surely, you and she were in this together. She had a role in this, too. No, Bob. She told me she was too busy, and it was my job. called several months later, and Cynthia answered the phone. said, I guess you didn't get You're still there. Yes. It's a funny thing. The chief nurse was fired.
