Abstract
Creating and designing personalized learning programs is one of two major goals of the /I/D/E/A/ Change Program for Individually Guided Education (IGE). The second goal is continuous improvement of the staff and school. The essential ingredients of IGE include combining assessment data about children, learning content, and teaching strategy to create individualized learning programs for every student. IGE also means helping students assume increasing responsibility for making decisions about their own education. The /I/D/E/A/ Change Program refers to how students learn. It is not a set of neatly packaged course outlines replete with classroom activities and instructional materials. It is the process by which goals and objectives are selected, individual learning situations are designed, and the way other factors (time, space, personnel, etc.) are managed to facilitate learning. The /I/D/E/A/ Change Program for IGE aids teachers to transfer education theory into classroom practices that will meet the needs of individual students.
