Abstract

The photovoltaic system or other low voltage renewable energy system requires high voltage gain dc-dc converter. Similar to conventional boost converter, high voltage gain dc-dc converters boost up the input voltage of renewable source for grid connected inverter system or other standalone high voltage designed load operation. The paper has a PV fed high voltage dc-dc converter with switched capacitor topology is used for load operation. The proposed system has been implemented in simulation using Matlab for changing irradiance and temperature conditions of PV. The Perturb & Observe algorithm is used to take out the maximum power from the PV to fed load using high voltage gain converter. P&O is tracking the MPP for changing solar and temperature conditions. Use of a switched capacitor dc-dc converter provides high voltage gain at low duty ratio, lesser voltage stress across active switch and power devices. The simulation study is performed on Matlab 2017a for a 50watt load operation.
