Implementing Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) in Remote Fishing Villages, Cambodia

Abstract

Background The Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia with a population of 1.25 million people. Throughout the lake are dozens of floating villages that are isolated from the rest of the country, and without access to healthcare. As the majority of births in these villages occur at home, we sought to train traditional birth attendants (TBAs) in the Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) program.
