Abstract

This chapter focuses on the experiences of four organizations operating in diverse industries: Lockheed Martin, ProcessTech, the CFA Institute, and Prudential Insurance. One of the most significant developments in ethics education within the past decade has been the emergence and growth of Giving Voice to Values (GVV). GVV has been introduced as an integral component of ethics education and training in over 1,200 educational settings and public, private, and non-profit organizations around the world. An initial area of focus for the interviews was on the motivations for implementing GVV and the ways GVV was introduced into these organizations. A common thread connecting each of these four organizations was learning about GVV through their direct and indirect interaction with Mary. A final area of focus for future development related to understanding more about the personal characteristics and competencies that support GVV in the workplace.
