Abstract
As a result of a large national research project on flexible manufacturing Intervisie has conducted, the authors like to present a new methodology for the implementation of flexible manufacturing systems. The basic assumption underlying the methodology is the thesis that the technology in itself is not the independent variable in the design stage. It has to start with a focus on work organisation and the existing variety in opinions about the present situation and futun of the business. By using a step by step method to analyse persorl oriented as well as technical aspects the methodology provides an integral approach.
