Abstract
Setting up and implementing a new electronic reserves system at Hofstra University is the topic of this paper. This article discusses the initial set up and the reasons for choosing the machinery, software and file formats. As with any new service, there were problems with the initial decisions. Included are explanations of problem corrections. The electronic reserve service was successful and usage more than doubled within two semesters.
