Abstract

This paper aims to study a Single Board Computer (SBC), how it works to setup the SBC, and to implement a simple application using SBC. We are considering BeagleBone black wireless board for the study, which is an SBC. Here, a simple application is considered to exchange mail with the help of Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and if the mail is received, it is indicated by using the external LED. To achieve this, the BeagleBone Black Wireless board is considered, and the porting of the OS into the SD card is done. The basic setup of the board is also done. For the LED connected, the GPIO is configured in the board. The Wi-fi is configured for network connectivity to send the mail to the desired receiver mail by using SMTP. The external LED acts as an indicator to show that the mail has been received by the receiver.
