Abstract
The article is devoted to the timbre-imitation method used in composing neofolklorism to convey the specifi cs of folk singing, whose tradition is based on the timbreintonation onomatopoeia of the surrounding world. Using the work of I. V. Astakhova as an example, the author of the paper carries out a musicological analysis, revealing this method of interaction with a folklore source.
