Abstract

The Community Learning Activity Center is an institution established by, for and within the community, organizing various scopes and types of out-of-school education according to the learning needs of students and environmental potentials and is relevant to development both in rural and urban areas. It is one of the implementations of social entrepreneurship in Indonesia. The existence of a Community Learning Activity Center as a community learning resource center is really needed to empower the potential that exists in the community, especially school dropouts who are unable to continue their education to a higher level. The objective of this study is to identify and describe the implementation of social entrepreneurship organized by the Community Learning Center (PKBM) in Semarang. This study uses a qualitative method approach by exploring entrepreneurship acceptance in PKBM Semarang. The results of the study show that social entrepreneurship has been implemented by PKBM managers through business study groups, life skill training, and community empowerment. It can be concluded that by practicing social entrepreneurship, PKBM has an important role in increasing the harmony of social, education and economic activities.
