Abstract

This article reviews the application of Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 in cases of river water pollution that occurs in Indonesia. This study aims to provide explanation and understanding to readers in order to understand the applicable laws related to environmental law in Indonesia. The research method used is normative juridical, which focuses on the analysis of legal documents and literature sources. The results of this study show that environmental regulations in Indonesia are clearly listed in the current list of laws and regulations. But in reality or in its implementation has not been in accordance with what has been stated in the existing regulations, there are still many companies that dump their waste carelessly into the river without considering the adverse impact on the surrounding community. There are also many companies that do not have AMDAL And this pollution is also caused by the low level of supervision carried out by the government.
