Abstract
Education is one of the most important things to help students develop their potential so they can adapt to the times. Communication skills are one of the 21st-century skills that have an important role in the process of living in society. This study aims to determine how the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) through Lesson Study (LS) on student communication skills. In this study used a class action research design through lesson study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were 22 students at class AA who have taken in the 21st century learning courses in the 2019/2020 school year. Data obatained by filling the observation sheet as many as four meetings in two cycles. The skills are measured with indicators oral communication, receptive communication, discerns intent, uses communication strategies, communicates clearly for a purposes, and presentation skills. The results showed that communication skills increased in each indicators. The average communication skills gained value in the first cycle 65.72 and the second 80.87. Furthermore, the conclusion of this research is the implementation of model problem based learning model through lesson study can help student to improve their communication skills.
