Abstract

Electric currents of medium and high frequencies are used for inductive heating and welding of steel products. Furthermore, magnetic concentrators are used for the optimisation of transfer so that they direct the currents at a specific area of the heat-treated steel product. After years of study and detailed experimental research, we have found out that the material behaviour during inductive heat treatment also depends on the type of concentrator applied. The character of the electric current passing through the steel products changes through the application of different concentrators which directly alter the structure and quality of the final product. Ferritic and magneto-dielectric concentrators from different producers have been used in the research with HF inductive welding of steel pipes.
