Abstract

A kernal program written in 6502 assembly language that allows as many as six different assembly language programs to run concurrently on a single small microcomputer is described. The basic principle used is that of time division multiplexing to allow multitasking. This is accomplished by assigning each program its own stack area and allowing it to execute for a specified duration, as determined by an interrupt-driven master program. This interrupt program also controls the proper sequencing of the programs and maintains the functional integrity of each individual program.
