Abstract

This paper describes OPC UA interoperability, OPC UA servers’ profiles, and basic concepts of address space based on OPC UA information model. It also contains a practical experiment where OPC UA server and client are implemented to fulfill following requirements for Micro Embedded Device 2017 Server Profile and integrated at microcontrollers which run a real time operating system. The experiment is focused on a signal processing speed. It contains a synthesis of the server and client design, starting with choosing a software and a hardware, through a device description by Information Model, and ending with the explanation of experiment results. The paper also discusses possible benefits which could be achieved by integrating embedded devices with OPC UA into an automation control infrastructure.
