Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of management of nurses with different levels of professional skills on promoting increasing improvement of quality of care.Methods The nursing staff were divided into five groups with different levels of professional skills based on professional education background,length of service,job title,work experience and working requirement of the department.The nurses were reassigned on the basis of duty and standards.APN continuous arrangement of duty was implemented.Results After 6-month of implementation, quality of care was significantly improved,basic care was ideal,rate of patient satisfaction was increased,nurses's responsibilities were clear,rate of nurse-patient disputes was reduced,and prestige of the head nurse was elevated.Conclusions Strengthened management of nurses with different levels of professional skills and establishment of a complete new model of care management is the key to increasing improvement of quality of care.
