Abstract
This paper aims to apply Layered Division Multiplexing (LDM) by Software Defined Radio (SDR) in the Brazilian Digital TV System (ISDB-Tb) for its evolution to the next generation Digital TV (DTV). It presents in detail the architecture of the transmitter system of two LDM physical layers, from Transport Stream (TS) channel coding to Up-Conversion and subsequent SDR deployment, using different coding and mapping schemes. Moreover, the modified receiver system receives two LDM layers, based on the concepts of Cloud Txn. It also proposes the software development of a simplified and adapted system for ISDB-Tb, following the presented architecture that uses the LDM and SDR technologies. For the results obtained, first demonstrate the operation of the proposed system, and finally the advent of capacity increase, performance and efficiency.
