Abstract

Conclusions From February 2003 to August 2008, 51 patients with nasopharyngeal (n=8) or oropharyngeal (n=43) carcinoma were treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) at the National Naval Medical Center. The majority of patients received treatment for squamous cell carcinoma (n=50) with one patient undergoing IMRT for treatment of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the oropharynx. One patient treated for nasopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma was lost to follow-up after 7 months with exclusion from this analysis. Of the 50 patients, 49 were treated with definitive IMRT and 1 received re-treatment for recurrent base of tongue squamous cell carcinoma. Materials/Methods
