Abstract

Different from the conventional bandgap reference (BGR) circuit, a differential pair of npn transistors with an given emitter junction area ratio is introduced to produce a PTAT current in this paper. A relatively simple current compensated method is also illustrated here to optimize the temperature characteristic of BGR. The simulation result shows the high precision, low temperature coefficient (TC) power supply independence and low power dissipation in this circuit.
