Abstract
Patients require various information at the end of their radiotherapy (RT) treatment as they transition to the next phase of survivorship. Moreover, patients with different cancer diagnoses may benefit from disease-specific information. At our institution, a radiation therapist (RTT) provides patients with a short summary of post-treatment education together with a general post-treatment education pamphlet 1 week prior to the completion of RT. The pamphlet includes a collection of questions that patients should ask their attending radiation oncologist (RO) or team as part of their discharge care plan during their last review clinic appointment. However, some non-specific questions may seem irrelevant to breast RT patients and take valuable time from their encounter with the ROs and RTTs. The objective of this initiative is to identify breast-site specific information and design a specific RT pamphlet to address patient needs at the time of treatment completion.
