Implementation of Audio Watermarking using Fast Fourier Transform for Audio Digital Copyright Protection

Abstract

Audio Watermarking is one way that can be used to protect the audio from acts of piracy. Audio watermarking is a technique of embedding information into an audio file and retrieval the information without affecting the quality of the audio. This research develops software that is used to do the insertion and extraction of watermark on the audio files using LSB insertion method on the frequency domain using Fast Fourier Transform. The audio files that used are wav audio format and the text as watermark. The result shows the watermark can be extracted well as long as the audio files did not experience various audio processing such as cropping, resampling, conversion, and compression.The quality of the audio with less than 500 characters of watermark is good, with inaudible noise when audio is played, as compared to the watermarked audio with more than 500 characters of watermark
