Abstract
Abstract The paper outlines the mapping and cadastral information problems and issues in urban areas throughout Thailand. The objectives, characteristics and development stages of a major urban mapping programme are reviewed. Also addressed are some of the key issues that influenced the project design as well as significant issues that are relevant to the improvement of the urban cadastre and Land Information Systems (LIS) in Thailand and other developing countries.
