Abstract

AbstractThe Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) is a standard interconnect protocol that allows all the components in system on chip (SOC) designs to be connected and managed. The SOC has Advanced High Performance Bus (AHB) which is for high performance system modules and Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) which is for low performance system modules. In order to develop the internal communication between high performance peripherals and low performance peripherals, AHB to APB bridge has been implemented for converting AHB transactions into APB transactions. The AHB to APB bridge is made up of four modules: an AHB master, an AHB slave interface, an APB controller, and an APB interface. These modules were written in Verilog Hardware Description Language (VHDL) and tested on a Questa Sim-64 10.7c and also code coverage report has been generated.KeywordsAdvanced microcontroller bus architectureSystem on chipAdvanced high performance busAdvanced peripheral busCode coverage
