Abstract

Traditional testing technology of graphical user interface (GUI) testing is capture and replay (CR). Commonly, CR technique can not be used before Java Application Under Test (JAUT) which is completely developed. In this paper, it proposed a Java Programmatic Description Language(JPDL) method to test JAUT as an alternative of automation testing. Tester uses script engine combined with Dynamically object Library (DOL) to simulate and generate the GUI events (GUI-Events), if such a script is generated, it could be reserved through various versions of the test without changing the script, saving a lot of time and lab our costs. Along with visual test script editor, the tester could easily write the test script according test specification before JAUT is completely developed. In addition to this function, tester could also use this tool to do CR operations on JAUT for regression testing. During playback, the tool adopts JPDL combined with DOL to automatically control the whole process synchronously and does not need people define synchronization points. It makes the whole process more robust and effective.
