Abstract

Basic science medical knowledge is a key American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) milestone for Allergy-Immunology programs. Lecture-based learning has been associated with lower levels of knowledge retention, engagement, and exam performance compared to active learning methods, yet basic science immunology is predominantly taught using lecture-based formats. As such, an interactive, problem-based immunology curriculum was implemented using adult learning theory.
