Abstract

The paper presents the design of a prototype device that implements a redundancy managment scheme for the on-line detection and isolation of faulty sensors. The device has been built using an 8-bit microcomputer system and commercially available electronic hardware. The software is not restricted to any specific hardware. It is completely portable. The operation or the prototype device has been successfully demonstrated for the real-time validation of sensor signals on the 5 MWt MIT Research Reactor.
