Abstract

Clock Synchronization is one of the most fundamental problems of distributed systems. The present work describes a transputer implementation for a real-time system that uses replication for fault-tolerance. The replicas have to maintain identical states at about the same instant of real-time. Theoretical analysis of timing is also done but the state explosion problem is avoided. Our approach towards system design is suitable for building ultra-reliable applications like launch vehicles. Experimental results are provided in detail.
