Abstract

In this paper we study the statistical properties of an implementation of the Metropolis algorithm for SU(3) gauge theory. It is shown that the results have normal distribution. We demonstrate that in this case error analysis can be carried on in a simple way and we show that applying it to both the measurement strategy and the output data analysis has an important influence on the performance and reliability of the simulation.
