Abstract

Recently IoT based healthcare applications are gaining more attention due to its advantages like decreased costs, improved disease management, and enhanced management of drugs and remote monitoring. On the other side, it is becoming a lucrative target for the adversaries due to its valuable knowledge and business opportunities. However, healthcare data is very sensitive for its owners and thus it is important to ensure the security of the data. Misuse of this data may cause critical consequences and might result in not only material losses but also endanger the health and lives of people whose information was stolen. This paper aims to analyze the impact of data security methods in an IoT based healthcare application. The analysis is focused towards the computational overhead of the methods and its vulnerability to attacks.
