Abstract

This research is based on the importance of the character of discipline in students. This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation of pencak silat extracurriculars in instilling the character of discipline in fourth grade students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data that researchers got in the field used data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of this study were pencak silat extracurricular teachers, fourth grade homeroom teachers and fourth grade students at SDN Karawaci Baru 1 Tangerang City. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of pencak silat extracurricular activities in instilling the character of student discipline can improve the discipline of students when school activities take place, including 1) discipline in dress, 2) discipline in terms of time, 3) discipline in worship, 4) discipline in study thing.
