Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate the results of occlusion of the lacrimal punctum reversible with the use of thermosensitive plugs to treat the dysfunctional tear syndrome. METHODS: Eighteen eyes of 9 patients with dry eye were selected and subjected to reversible occlusion of the lacrimal punctum with the use of thermosensitive plugs and were followed for 60 days through the OSDI questionnaire, fluorescein staining, rose bengal staining and Schirmer’s test.
