Abstract

Abstract The results of the study of boron nitride characteristics concerning the trapping and detrapping of ionimplanted deuterium, as well as the radiation-induced desorption of gases from its surface under deuterium ion bombardment are given. The deuterium trapping coefficients, level of deuterium saturation dose and the temperature ranges of deuterium retained were found. For boron nitride irradiated by D2 + ion beam, the Coefficients of radiation-induced desorption were found to be 7.6 ± 1.4 CO mol/ion D and 5.4 ± 1.1 CO2 mol/ion D.
