Abstract
The surface modification of Ni-base alloys with low Al-contents (between 2 and 5wt.%) with fluorine leads to the formation of a protective alumina scale under high temperature service conditions. The combined implantation of fluorine and reactive elements (Y,Hf) can increase the adherence of this alumina scale needed for technical applications.
