Abstract

The water-drop interception characteristics of a wedge in a supersonic flow field are investigated analytically for the case of flows in which the shock wave is not detached. The results indicate that, contrary to the subsonic flow cases considered previously, there is no limiting position on the wedge beyond which the droplets cease to strike, but rather icing may occur along the entire wedge surface.
